Today at #RightProperShaw we filled mesh bags with Sauvignon Blanc grape must from @stonetowerwinery. We then added it to a Brett Saison we brewed using a single aromatic hop addition of Nelson Sauvin hops. We're excited about this beer to say the least! #beerstagram #dcbeer #craftbeer
Vintage Beer Tuesday at #RightProper#Shaw today! Releasing a 90 day aged American Primitive beer called "The Invisible City of Bladensburg". Our colonial era ship's beer is brewed in commemoration of the War of 1812. Freshly cropped Blue Spruce tips were added to the kettle (to prevent scurvy of course) and the beer was open fermented with brettanomyces and lactobacillus just like in the good ole days. #dcbeer #madeindc #beerstagram
Introducing Facing Future Volume 2: This is our 2nd interpretation of the NE style IPA. Brewed with an abundance of Golden Naked Oats, Flaked Oats, and Flaked Wheat then fermented with the Nordic yeast strain, Voss Kveik, which produces an aroma comparable to that of an orange creamsicle. A very generous amount of Mosaic, Citra Lupulin powder, and Azacca hops were added during the whirlpool then we double dry hopped with the same varieties. Silky smooth mouth feel coupled with tons of ripe tropical and citrus fruit hop flavor and aromatics. 6.5% abv and available only on draft at our Shaw Brewpub. #dcbeer. #rightpropershaw #beerstagram
Happy Labor Day! Releasing a new beer called, "Thingamajig", today at #RightProperShaw. This German style Gose was brewed with over 40% malted wheat and open fermented with Lactobacillus to create a beer with a hazy golden hue and offering a refreshing crispness with a jammy tartness and a touch of salinity. A whirlpool addition of locally sourced aronia berries adds complexity by means of tannins and a gentle astringency. We then dry hopped it with Meridian for added aromatics reminiscent of mixed berries. Open for brunch! #dcbeer #craftbeer #beerstagram
Freshly tapped at #RightProperShaw is Subliminal Minded: This 6.4% dry and effervescent Saison was brewed with both malted and unmalted wheat in our open fermenter and fermented with our house Brettanomyces cultures. The addition of Lemondrop and Meridian hops offer aromatic notes of sugary lemon and citrus that intertwines with the soft malt and peppery character contributed by the yeast. Basically, it's a Damn tasty beer. #dcbeer

New beer release at #rightpropershaw today! Facing Future is our interpretation of a NE style IPA. Brewed with a large amount of Golden Naked Oats, Flaked Oats, and Flaked Wheat then fermented with a blend of two different English ale yeasts. Mosaic lupulin powder, Citra lupulin powder, and Motueka are the hops featured and a very generous amount was added at the whirlpool and then we double dry hopped it for added aroma.
